An executive session of the Borough Council will be conducted immediately following
the adjournment of this evening’s monthly general business meeting consistent with
section 708(a)(1), section 708(a)(2) and section 708(a)(5) of the Sunshine Act for the
following purposes: (1) to discuss matters involving the employment, the terms and
conditions of employment, and the evaluation of performance of current Borough
employees; (2) to provide informational updates and to discuss strategy related to the
negotiations of new collective bargaining agreements with the International
Brotherhood of the Teamsters Local No. 776, Gettysburg Borough Police Employees

Area residents gathered Saturday evening in a public display of solidarity with Ukraine.
“We are gathering in the name of community and peace to stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people. We’re aiming to provide a safe and healthy space for people to gather and express their voices of concern and worry in a healthy and cathartic manner. We will have works from Ukrainian poets read aloud, light music, scheduled guest speakers as well.
It’s important that we gather this way, we do well when we support one another.”

Open House – Gettysburg CARES – 2/15/2022


Gettysburg CARES mission is to provide shelter for up to 30 people when no other shelter can be found. This is accomplished through a partnership with local churches and community service agencies.

Gettysburg C.A.R.E.S. consists of a cold weather shelter and a Resource Center geared to provide support to our guests. With Over 500 trained volunteers , our program director, and four part time staff, we are able to maintain our Shelter and Resource Center programming.

We are very grateful and blessed to have so many people and organizations who want to help improve the lives of our homeless neighbors. Our staff, Board of directors, and our homeless guests thank you for your contributions to Gettysburg C.A.R.E.S.
