Gettysburg, PA — Gettysburg Foundation invites residents of Adams County, Pennsylvania, to attend Adams County Day on Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, with free admission to the Film, Cyclorama & Museum Experience at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center.
Visitors begin with A New Birth of Freedom, the introductory film that sets the stage for understanding the 1863 battle. Guests can then experience the dramatic Gettysburg Cyclorama, a 377-foot, 360-degree painting depicting Pickett’s Charge. The Gettysburg Museum of the American Civil War features 12 galleries, along with A Rough Coarse Life: The World of the Civil War Soldier, a special exhibition exploring the experiences, challenges and resilience of Civil War soldiers.
Together, these experiences offer visitors a deeper understanding of the battle, the people who experienced it and its lasting impact on Gettysburg and our nation. Visitors can continue exploring this history on the Gettysburg battlefield, where the events of 1863 unfolded.
“Adams County Day is an opportunity for us to welcome our neighbors back to the Museum & Visitor Center and encourage them to experience Gettysburg’s history,” said Barbara Sardella, interim President and CEO of the Gettysburg Foundation. “We’re pleased to continue this tradition of making these experiences accessible to our local community, and we appreciate Barley Snyder sponsoring and supporting this opportunity for Adams County residents.”
Adams County Day is available to all residents of Adams County, Pennsylvania, with valid proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or state ID. The Museum & Visitor Center is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the last film/Cyclorama show beginning at 4:15 p.m.
