There is But One Option for the Winter — Valley Forge

May 30 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

In the winter of 1777, General George Washington and the Continental Army set their sights on a little village in southeastern Pennsylvania called Valley Forge. The hardships they faced there would go down in history, but what drove them to this desperate situation? Step beyond the story of what happened at Valley Forge to consider why political, economic, and strategic factors influenced the army’s decision, and the impact of the encampment on that location.

Join historian Ken Gavin Saturday, May 30th at 2 p.m. at the Battlefield Overlook Event Center (625 Biglerville Road, Gettysburg) for this revolutionary discussion.

Free for Gettysburg History members; $10/general admission. Reserve your tickets here.
