The 11th Annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser

The Empty Bowls Fundraiser has become a cherished tradition in our community, symbolizing our collective commitment to alleviating hunger and supporting those in need. This event, hosted annually, brings together community members, artists, businesses, restaurants and philanthropists to make a meaningful impact in the fight against food insecurity and the need for nutritious produce to be available to our community members in need.

How it Works:

1. Beautiful Bowls: Talented local artists generously donate handcrafted bowls that serve as both functional art pieces and symbolic representations of the empty bowls in our community.
2. Soup Supper: Attendees are invited to a heartwarming soup supper, where they choose a bowl from the collection. Local restaurants have donated delicious soup for our guests to enjoy. The meal is a simple reminder of the many individuals who face hunger daily.  It includes, soup, bread, beverages, and dessert.
3. Donations: In exchange for their chosen bowl and a delicious meal, attendees purchase a ticket. All funds raised directly support The Gleaning Project's initiatives to rescue surplus produce from going into landfills and provide nutritious produce to those who need it most in our community.

The Impact of Your Support:

•  Feeding the Hungry: Funds raised at the Empty Bowls Fundraiser enable The Gleaning Project to expand its efforts in rescuing surplus produce and distributing it to local food banks, shelters, and community organizations thus providing fresh nutritious produce alongside of the foods distributed by local food pantries.
• Raising Awareness: The event serves as a powerful platform to raise awareness about the critical issue of food insecurity in our region, fostering a sense of community and shared responsibility. Together we can keep our community nourished and vibrant.
