Brews for Brains

April 6 @ 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm

HE IS MY HERO!
My son Kevyn was diagnosed over two years ago with brain cancer. Being his Dad, and if you ask me why I said Dad and not Father that is another conversation. I felt helpless, I could not make it go away. I could not fix it. I could not do ANYTHING but hope and trust. The week our world changed I did not and was not going to leave his side!
On Kevyn’s 28th Birthday he had a grade 4 Glioblastoma brain tumor removed at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill. His surgeon who as luck would have it is one of the top surgeons in her field, she removed 98% of the tumor with no adverse side effects.
Kevyn soon went through chemo and radiation and in a few short months was back to being the hard working, hardheaded pain in the #$%# son that we love.
Through Kevyn’s “never give up” attitude, the love and support from his family. He won and is doing fantastic! Kevyn is fully healed, is starting a family and continues to amaze us. If you ask him about his journey, he will likely downplay his accomplishment and strength.
Unfortunately, not everyone has the outcome Kevyn has. There are many people who don’t survive and for this reason I have created this event with the hopes that in the future everyone will be able to tell a story like Kevyn’s.
National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS) unrelentingly invests in, mobilizes, and unites the brain tumor community to discover a cure, deliver effective treatments, and advocate for patients and caregivers.
Building on over 30 years of experience, the National Brain Tumor Society is the largest patient advocacy organization in the United States committed to curing brain tumors and improving the lives of patients and families. With thousands beside us, our collective voices and actions are a powerful force for progress.
