Behind Union Lines: An Exclusive Tour of the Jacob Weikert Farm and Field Hospital
July 2, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
1051 Taneytown Road, Gettysburg
Join historian Tim Smith and Abbie Hoffman, director of the Shriver House Museum, for a special tour of the Jacob Weikert Farm — one of the most significant Union field hospitals during and after the Battle of Gettysburg.
From civilian heroine Tillie Pierce to Union General Stephen Weed, this program brings to life the individuals whose stories converged at this remarkable 18th-century farmstead. With rare access to the interior of the home, the tour also ventures beyond the property to explore neighboring farms and the seldom-visited eastern base of Little Round Top.
Please meet at the Jacob Weikert Farm, 1051 Taneytown Road, Gettysburg.
Registration is required. Tickets cost $30 for Gettysburg History members and $40 for general admission. Reserve your tickets here.
