(March 12\, 2026)—Eisenhower National Historic Site will host its third annual Easter Egg Roll on Saturday\, April 4\, 2026\, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. \nPresident Dwight D. and First Lady Mamie Eisenhower revived the beloved Easter Egg Roll tradition on the South Lawn of the White House in 1953 after it was suspended during World War II and the years of food rationing that followed. \nNow in its third year in Gettysburg\, park staff\, in the spirit and tradition of the original Eisenhower Presidential Easter Egg Roll\, invite young visitors and families to enjoy a variety of festive activities. Children can decorate their own wooden egg and participate in an Easter Egg Roll on the lawn of the Eisenhower home. Visitors can also learn about Eisenhower family Easter traditions and how the Eisenhowers spent time with their children and grandchildren. The Eisenhower home will be open for informal\, open-house style tours throughout the event\, with the last entry at 2 p.m. \n“The Easter Egg Roll is a wonderful reminder that history isn’t just something we study—it’s something we can experience together\,” said Jackie Spainhour\, President & CEO of the Gettysburg Foundation. “We are honored to partner with Eisenhower National Historic Site to continue this presidential tradition in Gettysburg\, offering families a day of fun\, learning and connection inspired by the Eisenhower legacy.” \nThis special event is made possible through Eisenhower National Historic Site’s continued partnership with the Gettysburg Foundation. The event is free and open to the public.
