SUMMARY:Saving the Dobbin House
DESCRIPTION:Saving the Dobbin House \nBy the 1970s\, the Dobbin House stood at the brink of loss—weathered\, neglected\, and facing possible demolition. In 1976\, during the nation’s Bicentennial\, one young couple and a team of experts began the process of saving it. \nThrough photographs\, stories\, and behind-the-scenes insights\, this program traces the remarkable restoration that brought the house back to life—preserving not just a building\, but a tangible link to Gettysburg’s colonial past. Longtime owner Jackie White\, who led the restoration\, will present this special closing program in the Dobbin House Dinner Series. \nThis program will take place Thursday\, August 27th at 89 Steinwehr Avenue\, Gettysburg. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. followed by the program at 7 p.m. \nThe dinner buffet will include: Tuscan salmon over rice pilaf\, chicken primavera over cavatappi pasta\, vegetable lasagna\, roasted asparagus\, roasted garlic parmesan red potatoes\, cheesecake\, chocolate mousse\, and fruit tarts. \nRegistration is required. The cost is $60 per person for dinner and the program. Program-only tickets are not available. \n\n \nNew ticketing link: https://113910.blackbaudhosting.com/113910/Saving-the-Historic-Dobbin-House
