Step off the beaten path and into a powerful, often overlooked chapter of Gettysburg’s story. Join Jean Green and Andrew Dalton for a walking tour of Lincoln Cemetery—Gettysburg’s only remaining Black burial ground. This hallowed ground is the final resting place of nearly 30 United States Colored Troops who fought in the Civil War, men who saw combat on battlefields from Virginia to Florida. As you walk among the headstones, you’ll hear their extraordinary stories of bravery, sacrifice, and resilience. As Abraham Lincoln once said, “Without the military help of the black freedmen, the war against the South could not have been won.” 100% of tour proceeds benefit the Adams County Historical Society and the Lincoln Cemetery Project Association, supporting preservation and education efforts to honor these silent heroes. Free parking is available along Long Lane or at Gettysburg Rec Park.Tickets can be purchased here.
