Songs and Stories of a Civil War Hospital
July 2 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Commemorate the 159th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg with a program that describes the use of the church as a Civil War hospital. The program features readings from a nurse who cared for wounded soldiers inside the church building and from a wounded soldier himself. Two poignant poems by Walt Whitman and period music give further insight into the plight of the wounded and the tender care they received. This is a one-hour program suitable for all ages.
The event is free; donations are most appreciated.
