The Gettysburg Adams Chamber of Commerce, Adams County’s oldest and largest business organization, invites the local business community to its next County Connections breakfast on Tuesday, Aug. 15, in the Fellowship Hall of Lower Marsh Creek Presbyterian Church, 1865 Knoxlyn Road, Gettysburg. Registration and breakfast begin at 8 a.m., with a program at 8:30 a.m.
The unique County Connections breakfasts, held quarterly throughout Adams County, are about building connections with fellow business leaders. The program collects and distributes school supplies for children of families who cannot otherwise afford the items. Items needed are: backpacks, crayons, glue sticks, subject dividers, pencil boxes, pink erasers, college ruled spiral notebooks, scissors, pencil cases, wide ruled spiral notebooks, colored pencils, highlighters, college and wide ruled loose leaf paper, broad tip markers, fine tip markers, pens (blue, black and red pens), rulers, college and wide ruled composition books, white erasers, pencil cap erasers, #2 pencils, scientific calculators, one-inch three-ring binders, white glue, pencil sharpeners, folders with pockets, correction tape (no liquid) and mechanical pencils. Monetary donations or Staples and Wal-Mart gift cards will also be collected.
