75th Anniversary of D-Day

The Dwight D. Eisenhower Society in partnership with the Eisenhower Institute at
Gettysburg College will commemorate the 75 th Anniversary of D-Day, the Allied Invasion of Normandy by
hosting a one-day symposium on March 30, 2019. This is the first of several events to celebrate the 50 th
Anniversary year of the Eisenhower Society.
The symposium will feature remarks and lectures from distinguished experts on General Eisenhower and
the Second World War. Speakers include Susan Eisenhower, Dr. George Colburn, Dr. Craig Symonds
and Dr. John C. McManus. A panel discussion with be moderated by Dr. Ian A. Isherwood, Assistant
Professor of War and Memory Studies at Gettysburg College. After the final panel discussion, attendees
will be able to take part in an optional visit to the Eisenhower Farm.
Advance registration of $25.00 is required to attend the symposium. A continental breakfast and buffet
lunch are included with the registration fee and an optional visit to the Eisenhower Farm will be available
for an additional $7.00. The deadline for registration is Friday, March 15.
